Carved Walnut And Marble Nightstand, Louis XV Style – 19th Century

A carved walnut nightstand in the Louis XV style, dating from the 19th century and forming part of the same bedroom suite as the matching bed and mirrored wardrobe, both offered separately.

The front features a drawer and a door, the latter decorated with Provençal agricultural motifs echoing those found on the footboard of the bed.

The upper section is fitted with a moulded marble top and a shaped wooden back panel incorporating a small shelf.

The interior is lined with marble, as was customary for this type of bedside furniture in the 19th century.

The carved uprights extend into four cabriole legs.

The nightstand, bed and mirrored wardrobe share the same decorative vocabulary and may be acquired separately or together to reunite the bedroom suite.
