Rockery Style Bed 1900
Magnificent finely carved walnut bedstead. The head is adorned with a large openwork rocaille shell decorated with flowers, medallion with putti, scrolls, croziers and foliaged crescents. The pediment of the foot with shell and attributes, panel depicting a putto chasing a dragonfly in a rocky antique setting, firepot, fountain and garlands of flowers. Lower crossbar and sides with rocaille shells, flowers and lictor fasces. Arched feet ending in snail, acanthus falls. Remarkable work of sculpture, similar to the works of Honoré Dufin. Circa 1900.
