Superb bed from the Consulate period in mahogany. Sheathed uprights on casters, beautiful flamed mahogany. Rich ornamentation of gilded and patinated bronzes, finely chiseled. On the uprights: busts of Egyptians, casseroles, offcuts, quiver with winged lions and muzzles of lions in medallion. On the crossbar: dragons confronted around a winged mask with palmette. Buffer varnished. Rare model, to be compared to the work of Jacob Desmalter for Napoleon's bed at the Château de la Malmaison. Around 1800. Height: front uprights 134 cm, posterior 142 cm.
