Oak And Marble Sideboard – In The Style Of Charles Dudouyt – Circa 1940–1950
A two-door oak sideboard dating from the 1940s–1950s, in the style of Charles Dudouyt.
The front features two moulded panels decorated with carved geometric diamond patterns, framed by gently curved mouldings. The doors are fitted with long vertical wooden handles.
The piece stands on four substantial, rounded feet, characteristic of French neo-rustic furniture of this period.
The top consists of three separate slabs of veined grey marble, with a raised central section.
The interior provides generous storage space, divided into two compartments, each fitted with a shelf.
The oak has developed an attractive patina, with some signs of age and use. One of the marble slabs has a repaired break at one corner.
