It reflects the Gouros’ style and their love of delicacy and slender faces, as well as the Bété-style eyes—which are accentuated and slightly drooping. Note the headdress and the realistic beard (made of monkey skin).

The glare in the photos is due to the strong lighting used to show the objects as clearly as possible. From a very beautiful collection assembled by expatriates who lived in Africa in the 1950s and 1960s and later passed down through inheritance.
