A superb Lega mask with Yela influences—these two ethnic groups are located near the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo— here we see the distinctive features of each group: the white kaolin, the almond-shaped eyes, the heart-shaped face, the extreme simplification characteristic of the Lega, and the powerful expressionism of the Yela.
