"Haida Tlingit Tsimshian Mask, Canada, British Columbia, Native American"
Superb polychrome wooden mask with a beautiful antique patina, 19th century, from the collection of Swiss gallery owner Pierre Gisling in Montreux (his shop => here).Height 30 cm, it depicts a woman with a lip plate; the rounded nose symbolizes the beak of an eagle. Note that I have to use strong lighting to get good definition in the photos; reflections and glare are not present in the images under normal conditions.
