Small Boulle Marquetry Cabinet From The Napoleon III Period, 19th Century
A charming, dynamically shaped clock set featuring Boulle marquetry, combining natural tortoiseshell with gray-green highlights and inlays of chiseled brass, richly adorned with gilded bronze pieces in a rocaille style. It is crowned by an elegant bronze putto and rests on four arched feet.
The dial, featuring enameled cartouches with Roman numerals, houses a functioning movement signed “Bazo à Angers,” which chimes the hours and half-hours. The glass sides allow you to admire the pendulum, while the rear door opens to reveal the mechanism. Sold with its key.
