The piece features meticulous construction, with the fronts, sides, and back made of solid mahogany. The piece is accented by small, understated moldings characteristic of Louis-Philippe furniture.

The chest of drawers features four drawers: a first drawer housed in the upper cove, two front drawers, and a fourth drawer concealed in the baseboard.

The sides of the drawers are made of oak and feature traditional dovetail joints, in keeping with 19th-century cabinetmaking techniques.

The three visible drawers are fitted with small handles made of natural materials.
