A Napoleon III period glove box in a crossbow shape, enhanced with gilt bronze. Geometric marquetry of rosewood and violet wood. Double band of chased gilt bronze and chased gilt bronze feet. Interior lined with period cream moiré silk (shows a few small stains). Lock and key in working order. These high-quality, uniquely shaped boxes are often signed by the Boissier firm, and this type of bronze is frequently found. Very good original condition.
