The piece is entirely decorated with floral marquetry in various types of wood, featured on the tabletop, the front, and the sides.

The scalloped tabletop features a design centered around a floral basket, surrounded by flowers, foliage, and scrollwork. The composition is framed by dark reserves and a curly veneer that follows the tabletop’s undulating shape.

The front features three scalloped drawers, designed to blend into the piece’s overall silhouette and ensure continuity in the marquetry design. The sides also feature compositions of flowers, foliage, and birds.

The top drawer conceals a writing desk, featuring a red-leather-covered shelf, several small compartments, and an interior storage compartment.

The hardware is made of mercury-gilded bronze, featuring meticulous chiseling, particularly on the large corner brackets, the feet, and the lock plates.

The piece also retains high-quality double-bit locks, consistent with the overall level of craftsmanship.
