Harcourt Cut And Gilded Crystal Liqueur Service – Styptane Paris – Decanter And 3 Signed Glasses
Artist: Styptane
An elegant liqueur set comprising a decanter and three cut crystal glasses, richly decorated with hand-applied gilding. The decanter features a beautifully faceted body topped with a cut stopper, while the glasses rest on hexagonal stems. The entire set is adorned with refined gilt decoration depicting gallant scenes and floral motifs, in a very elegant decorative style. The base of the decanter bears the signature of Styptane Paris, a Parisian workshop renowned for its gilt decorations applied to crystal in the 20th century. The three glasses are also signed, attesting to a homogeneous set made by the same workshop. With its faceted lines and distinctive stem, this service evokes models inspired by the famous Harcourt shape, highly prized for its timeless elegance. Composition: 1 decanter with its original stopper, 16.5cm high; 3 matching glasses, 9cm high. Signatures: Styptane Paris (decanter and glasses). Material: cut and gilded crystal. Period: mid-20th century. Condition: very good overall condition, 2 small chips on the decanter (see photo), gilding well preserved.
