"19th Century Perfume Box, Bone And Leather Decoration, 3 Crystal Bottles"
Elegant perfume case from the Restoration period – early Second Empire (circa 1820-1850), in wood covered with blackened leather and decorated with bone (or antique ivory) rods fixed by small brass cabochons. The domed shape is reminiscent of a miniature trunk, with brass mount and key lock (present). The original interior, covered in cream moiré silk, contains three cut crystal bottles, each adorned with a rich rocaille-style gilt brass mount. The stoppers are topped with hand-painted medallions, depicting charming polychrome bouquets of flowers on a green background. A precious and refined object, typical of luxury perfume kits intended for the aristocracy in the 19th century. Rare for its complete preservation with its original bottles and key.
