Box made of burl elm; on the lid, beneath a glass panel framed in gilded brass, is the profile of King Louis XVIII in bronze-green-tinted wax.

The interior of the box is lined with a fine material. Made in France.

Period: Early 19th century.

Condition: As found; imperfections on the wax; small chips on the glass; the gilded rim is slightly worn.
