Rare scagolia side table or pedestal table decorated with red scorpion fish and green seaweed .
The escutcheon-shaped top rests on three oak legs , a JB monogram is inscribed near a fish, to be identified.
The composition is reminiscent of engravings by Cornelis Escher (1898-1972)
Scagolia is a technique invented in Italy as early as the 15 th century , a paste composed of plaster and tinted marble powder , making it possible to imitate the appearance of hard stones and marble.
Era: Art Deco , first part of the 20 th century circa 1925-1940 .
Condition : Good condition , in the state of discovery , slight small chips on the edges of the tray .
