Victorian-era Worcestershire Yeomanry Officer's Helmet
Victorian officer's helmet from the Worcestershire Yeomanry. Black patent leather shell adorned with raised vertical white metal bands on the sides and back. Openwork white metal crest on top, surmounted by a red and white horsehair plume. A gold insignia depicting the royal coat of arms above the monogram "VR," set within an oval bearing the inscription "QUEEN'S OWN REGIMENT," flanked by the lion and the unicorn, above the regiment's name. Front and back visors made of black leather edged with white metal. White metal chin strap, fastened with lion-head-shaped buckles. The interior retains its quilted black silk headband. Superb condition. Circa 1852.
