"British Ww1 Tank Splatter Mask"
A very rare British First World War tankers splatter mask. In relic “Been There” condition, having lost nearly all of its leather covering showing only a few fragments remaining to the lower edge, leaving the steel exposed. Chainmail hangs, protecting the wearers lower portion of the face. Individual slotted eye pieces. Securing strap loops have perished and the inner side shows pitting more so than the exterior. Manufactures mark is no visible due to pitting. Evidently this piece has probably been stored in a shed/garage most of its life, as spilt white paint is also seen on the inner side. In any condition, a rare piece to find and unquestionably original as appose to the many fake examples currently found on the collectors market.
