Large & beautiful canvas from the end of the 17th century or the beginning of the XVIIIth, depicting according to an annotation on the reverse,the youthful portrait circa 1680 of Louis de France (1661-1711) also known as "Grand Dauphin": born at the Château de Fontainebleau ,he was the eldest son of King Louis XIV of France and Queen Maria Theresa of Austria....Dying before his father, he never acceded to the throne, but he was the father of King Philip V of Spain and the grandfather of the future King of France Louis XV ...
Mark: this canvas is unsigned and has never been examined by an expert , but its fine quality suggests the presence of an excellent artist.
