"Large Pastel Mounted On Canvas, 19th Century - The Art Of Romanticism - Young Woman With A Clarinet - Signed?"
Large and beautiful pastel from the mid-19th century, quite characteristic of the Romantic style, depicting a young woman with the air of a shepherdess playing the clarinet in the company of her dog. The painting is not overtly signed, but it appears to have a monogram on the right (see detail in the photo: it seems to be "CC" or "CF"). Note: everything about the quality of this work suggests the presence of an excellent artist who is certainly a skilled pastel artist: indeed, the delicacy in the rendering of the fabrics is quite remarkable, perfectly in keeping with the expression of gentleness emanating from the young woman's face. Objectively, it is a masterpiece! - Some minor wear and tiny holes around the edges, without any real impact on the quality of the work. Pastel size (mounted on canvas): 62 cm x 50 cm. Antique frame (some molding missing): 67 cm x 56 cm. - Ask me for more photos if needed.
