"Fine Impressionist Paintings, 19th Century - Village & Washermen - Basque Country, Périgord - Signed? "
Two fine Impressionist paintings from the late 19th or early 20th century. One depicts a view of a village entrance with its porch and bell tower, and the other a lively scene, presumably in the same village, with washerwomen. The location is not specified, but it evokes a pleasant, rural atmosphere, possibly in the Southwest of France. The rural architecture is somewhat reminiscent of villages in the Basque Country and the Périgord region. Note: each painting is signed by the same artist, but the signature is difficult to decipher (see photos for details). Panel size (wood): 23.5 x 16 cm. Please ask for additional photos if needed.
