Bronze Celtic Torc On Display Stand

A magnificent Celtic bronze torque, adorned with scrolls and coils, presented on a velvet base. Dating from the 3rd to the 1st century BC and originating from Eastern Europe, this torque displays an exceptional patina, the bronze having acquired a superb dark green hue. This example is in remarkable condition, having survived over 2000 years. Torques were worn as a symbol of social status or authority. The Celts were masters of metalwork, and this piece is a perfect example of their craft.
