Luristan Clay Jug Decorated With Geometric Motifs
Magnificent terracotta jug with geometric ladder motifs around the circumference, from the Luristan Empire, circa 800 B.C., in the Zagros Mountains region of western Iran. In a superb hue, this jug features painted decorations that extend around its entire circumference, and an elegant handle. Remarkably well preserved and ideally sized, it is a magnificent example of utilitarian ceramics from the Luristan Empire.
