Marble Vase From The Middle Kingdom Of Egypt (2040-1782 Bc)
Magnificent marble vase from Ancient Egypt, dating from the Middle Kingdom (2040-1782 B.C.), with a superb patina and natural fossilization of the stone. Rare in form and in excellent condition, it shows slight wear on the rim, underlining its uniqueness. These vases were probably used to store kohl, one of the first eyeliners used in Egypt and the ancient world. Remarkably ovoid in shape, tapering to a flat base and curved rim, it is finely sculpted. Height: 10 cm; diameter: 10 cm.
