Magnificent mezcal figurine, carved from orange and black jade oxidized by iron, dating from approximately 600–100 BCE in Mexico. Finely carved silhouette, with rudimentary details on the face and body. A remarkable example in a stone of enigmatic color and carving.

Provenance: Important Canadian collection of pre-Columbian art, acquired from Arte Primitivo in the 2000s.
