JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 18 wrought iron slats. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in copper and gilt copper with three tiers. SHIKORO (neck guard) with four tiers in black lacquered wrought iron and purple silk braid (minor wear). FUKIGAESHI (small fins) in black lacquered wrought iron. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron covered with deerskin leather stamped with stylized facing dragon motifs, the interior lacquered red. MAEDATE in cut and gilt copper depicting a crescent moon. Dimensions: 23 x 32 x 33 cm. Sold with the stand. Dimensions with stand: 42 x 32 x 33 cm.
