JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868). Complete samurai armor. KABUTO (helmet) in 32 brown lacquered wrought iron plates. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in three-tiered gilt copper. SHIKORO (neck guard) in four-tiered brown lacquered iron with white silk braiding. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron, covered in deerskin stamped with geometric patterns. FUKIGAESHI (wings) in brown lacquered iron covered in stamped deerskin and decorated with the KIKKAWA clan mon in gilt copper. MAETATE in copper depicting a crescent moon with its points facing upwards. HAMPO (half-mask of a samurai) in brown lacquered wrought iron, decorated with striations, the interior lacquered black. YODARE-KAKE (gorget) with four tiers in black lacquered wrought iron and white silk braiding, the interior lacquered black. DO (breastplate) with eight slats in black lacquered iron and stamped deerskin, braided white silk. SODE (shoulder guards) with six tiers in black lacquered metal and white braiding. KOTE (arm guards) in chainmail and lacquered iron plates. KUSAZURI (skirt) and HAIDATE (thigh guards) with five rows in black lacquered leather and white silk braiding. SUNEATE (greaves) in black lacquered iron plates. Sold with its GUSOKU BITSU (carrying chest) in wood with metal reinforcements and with its display stand.
