Samurai Helmet With 120 Plates
Artist: Neo Yasumasa
Splendid 120-ken kabuto made by the famous Osaka blacksmith Neo Yasumasa in the Showa period.
This artist was an engineer who devoted his life to creating helmets of perfect historical reconstruction.
He never sold a single piece in his life, and only donated one to the Tokyo National Museum and the Metropolitan in NY.
An exhibition of his work with catalog was held in the 80's.
He made everything himself; the lamella forge, the iron tehen, the shikoro, the fukurins etc ....
Most of his pieces were signed like this helmet here.
Construction of considerable good weight.
