Charming Mennecy soft-paste porcelain snuffbox, dating from the reign of Louis XV.
The rectangular snuffbox features a subtle crosshatch pattern reminiscent of basketwork. It is painted on all sides, including the base and the inside of the lid, with bouquets and friezes of flowers.
The hinged mount is made of solid silver.
It bears the following hallmarks:
Braque head, Parisian discharge mark used between 1762 and 1768
A very beautiful snuffbox that possesses the charm of mid-18th-century soft-paste porcelain, enhanced by these floral garlands covering the entire box.
