Amazing Russian horn and solid silver cup from the 20th century.
The body of the cup is made of horn, grip grooves allow a good grip.
The neck and base are mounted with large silver parts decorated with pseudo-niel and engraved friezes.
A chain connects the two silver parts and allows the horn to be suspended
The silver parts are hallmarked:
. Hammer and sickle in a star with the title of 875/°° for Russian silver between 1958 and 1994
This drinking cup is a testimony to Soviet production during the communist period.
It comes from the Georgian tradition where such horns were used to drink wine or other alcohols.
