The spoon bowls are decorated at the base with small gadroons evoking a shell; the front is engraved with a reserve of interlaced scrolls, acanthus leaves, and a shell on a matte background.
On the reverse, the same type of ornamentation forms a blank cartouche.
The stem with its fillet joins the bowl, which features the same gadrooned motif as the bowl. Each piece is hallmarked:
Minerva 1st standard (pre-1973) for 950/1000 silver
Maker's mark: H & Cie with a rose branch and a star for Hénin et Compagnie, active from 1872 to 1974
Hénin et Compagnie was a renowned silversmith whose production was of such high quality that it was one of Odiot's subcontractors, alongside other prestigious silversmiths like Granvigne and Puiforcat.
Magnificent set of spoons, very elegant with this finely executed decoration reminiscent of the early 18th century. The vermeil is superb, a warm and deep yellow, in very good condition. 10.5 cm long
