A very beautiful silver mustard pot surmounted by a Japanese fish.
The body of the mustard pot is circular, resting on three feet decorated with palmettes.
The hinged lid is decorated with a superb Japanese fish in the round, forming a handle.
The interior is lined with glass.
The mustard spoon is not original but nonetheless charming, and is decorated with the Minerva hallmark, by the silversmith Charles Murat.
The mustard pot is hallmarked with:
A silversmith's mark in an oval: Ste L with an amphora. These oval hallmarks are those of a merchant selling an imported item.
A French import weevil hallmark.
935 for the silver content.
