Charming and unusual box in glass and solid silver.The box is rectangular, the body, like the lid, are in colorless glass.
The setting is in solid silver and vermeil. It consists of a separator dividing the box into two compartments, the rim and the hinge.
On the lid, the upper part of the hinge is decorated with a beam held by crossed ribbons in the Louis XVI style.
The frame is hallmarked:
. Boar's head for sterling silver since 1838
. Goldsmith's hallmark illegible
Very original box with two compartments. Such a construction with a translucent glass cover is rarely encountered.
