The spoons feature a magnificent decoration of an imperial eagle encircled by a laurel wreath and holding a thunderbolt in its talons. It is surrounded by ribbons and acanthus leaves.
The back of the spoons is decorated with a rich motif of scrolls, acanthus leaves, and palmettes forming a blank cartouche.
The stems, decorated with fillets and palmettes, join a large antique vase motif on the back of the spoons, surmounted by a large palmette.
This decoration is very rich and pronounced, giving it a strong presence and maximum decorative effect.
The spoons are gilded (vermeil).

. Minerva 1st standard (pre-1973) for 950/1000 silver
. Maker's mark: HS with a rising sun and a star for Henri Soufflot, active from 1884 to 1910
