Very rare pewter mug known as a “Rörhken” (or Rörcken), with a truncated conical shape, a wide, rounded base, a raised lid with a flat top, and a spherical thumb rest. The base of the handle is adorned with a coat of arms. It is deeply engraved with a guild emblem (?) depicting a crowned Heart of the Passion flanked by two rampant lions, accompanied by a list of surnames and the commemorative date of a fiftieth anniversary: 1699.
The lid bears an engraved inscription: PETER KRÖGER, the engraved name of a sworn guard of the guild.
Hallmarks:
1°- Johann Christian BEUTRICH, admitted as a master in 1749, stamped twice.
2°- city hallmark, incompletely applied.
Height: 21.6 cm.
DRESDEN, mid-18th century
