Large truncated-conical pewter PICHET, with flared base and S-shaped poucier with molded crest.Mark of Daniel DIETZ received master at the end of the XVIIIth c: paschal lamb passing on the left / D.D.
Height: 31 cm.
BARR, Circa 1800.
Very rare provenance in very good condition, a small re-corking in the lower middle part is however pointed out.
These jugs were the official wine measures of the Ancien Régime; those used in establishments open to the public had to be checked and gauged periodically to ensure "good measure" to the consumer.
