Christofle: Small Louis XVI Style Solid Silver And Vermeil Sugar-glazed Sugar Sugar Sprinkler.

Artist: Christofle
Charming small silver and vermeil sugar shaker by Christofle, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The spatula features an antique-style motif of wide garlands of foliage and an acanthus leaf.

The pierced, shell-shaped bowl is vermeil.

The shaker is hallmarked:

Minerva hallmark, first standard, pre-1973, for 950/1000 silver.

Maker's mark: CC with a bee and three stars for Christofle et Compagnie, hallmark used between 1853 and 1935.

A very beautiful little sugar shaker with a magnificent, elegant, and striking design. The vermeil bowl adds a touch of preciousness to the piece.
