Kilim Van - Hakkari. Anatolia. Circa 1900. 237 X 167 Cm
Woven in two panels joined and sewn together, this is a very beautiful kilim originating from the Hakkari region in the far east of Turkey. This kilim is the work of the Kurdish population, the majority in this region. The piece is almost signature-like. The choice of dense and saturated colors, the extreme regularity of the weave, and the braided net fringes are all distinctive features. 100% plant-based dyes. The indigo blues are deep. All in a masterful harmony. Circa 1900-1920. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 237 x 167 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
