We are proud to showcase, in our own way, the art of nomadic weaving in one of France’s most prestigious collections.
Before giving you a brief description of these two pieces, I’d like to point out that this type of item is as rare as it is precious. To give you an idea, the ten or so suppliers we work with have only a few pieces each. The reason is very simple: we buy almost all of them—at least the most beautiful ones.
In reality, only a passionate collector could amass so many objects of this kind. We have over a hundred of them.

A superb pair of fragments from a Maffrash Shahsaven originating from Persia.
Maffrash are part of the family of everyday objects used by the nomadic peoples of Persia and the Caucasus.
They served as the largest saddlebags or travel trunks. These two fragments were the two small panels facing each other.
Embroidery technique on a woven wool-on-wool base.
Very beautiful, exceptionally vibrant plant-based dyes.
We are offering a pair here; it is rare to find them this way.
