Let’s perhaps set aside the spectacular aspect of the piece for a moment to focus more on its subtleties.
The motif repeated throughout the central field is that of the Mother Goddess, a symbol of femininity and eternal beauty. A true object of seduction and desire, this kilim exudes a gentle yet powerful presence, softened by a complex palette of plant-based dyes in perfect harmony.
It is pure pleasure.
An infinite number of abrash effects can be seen across the entire surface.
This technique creates gradients and variations in intensity, lending relief and depth to each motif. Our eyes are instantly captivated by this richness and diversity; we enter this piece just as we leave it.
I must admit, what moves me most is the craftsmanship and mastery.
One day, a professor from the Toulouse University of Fine Arts, visiting our gallery, confided this to me: “It’s prodigious! Just imagine—among my many students, perhaps not a single one would be able to achieve this level of skill in the selection and harmony of colors...!”

The weave is truly marvelous, extremely fine and tight. The piece is supple. Precision, dexterity—true artistry.
