It is quite rare to find an antique piece of this size. Its width of just 75 cm and length of over three meters give it a particularly elegant silhouette and make it the ideal size for a hallway or gallery.
A century old, yet the colors show no fading, and there isn’t the slightest sign of wear!
Masterfully hand-woven with wool over wool, the workmanship is remarkably precise. The weave, extremely fine and tight, demonstrates perfect technical mastery.
The design is constructed as a rhythmic succession of woven and embroidered horizontal bands, alternating between broad solid areas and richly decorated sections. Diamonds, hooks, interlacing, and small geometric motifs follow one another without ever becoming monotonous, creating a true textile architecture along the entire length of the piece.
A true work of art.
The exclusively plant-based dyes are dense and saturated: madder red, deep indigo blue, eggplant brown, ochre, golden yellow, and ivory. Despite their intensity, they retain a remarkable harmony. Luminosity, depth, and perfect balance characterize this palette, which has remained surprisingly intact.
