What blows me away, I must say, is the total mastery. The perfectly balanced graphic composition and a harmony of hues as delightful as they are delicate.
I mean it in this sense: this kilim reminds me of haute couture! Yet, it’s impossible to imagine the weaver having followed a related academic path; nor is she assisted by a whole team of helpers. It is the power of tradition that guides her work with every weft thread.

The main motif, the star-shaped diamond, consists
of a cruciform or hourglass-shaped core, surrounded by serrated tiers, forming an eight-pointed geometric star.
This type of figure belongs to the family of Anatolian motifs often interpreted as
a stylization of the tribal göl, an abstract representation of protection, or a geometric development of the protective diamond.
