A rare and exceptionally delicate, remarkable Kuba kilim from Azerbaijan.

Traditionally woven using a wool-on-wool technique, it stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship. The weave, as fine as a cigarette paper, gives the piece an astonishing suppleness and lightness, characteristics of the finest antique Kuba pieces.
The design is punctuated by remarkable stylized eagles, emblematic motifs of the Caucasian decorative tradition. Their repetition gives the piece a very strong graphic presence while maintaining great elegance.

A magnificent palette of rich, deep plant-based hues: madder red and brick red, indigo blue and midnight blue, golden ochre, tobacco brown, very dark brown, and natural ivory. A few more muted shades, resulting from variations in the wool and the dye baths, further enrich this palette and give it the depth so characteristic of antique Caucasian kilims.
