Mashhad or Meshhed rug, in kork wool hand-knotted in Iran around 1970 - 1980.
Knot density for around 360,000 per m2. Rug in very good condition, not to say perfect.
This elegant piece, rare due to its gold, midnight blue, ivory, and brown colors, is surprising. Indeed, Mashhad rugs are more commonly predominantly red and blue.

This rug comes from the province of Meshhed, a beautiful, highly crafted piece with high-quality finishes.
Mecched is the second largest city in Iran located in the Northeast for just over three million inhabitants.
This important city is nicknamed "the city of a thousand faces".
This carpet is in perfect condition, and has a decoration of three rosettes like suns placed on the field. All over the field appear fine wavy and flowery volutes, and large bouquets, the colors tending towards gold, ivory, midnight blue are very fresh.
Note the quality of the border formed of large palms, quite narrow, alternating flowers and three braids decorated with a floral decoration.
The velvet is in superb condition, the fringes very good as well as the edges.
This carpet has been professionally cleaned in an ecological way.
