The Savonnerie is a high-loom carpet manufacturer located in Paris and Lodève.
Its official name is “Manufacture nationale de la Savonnerie.”
Since 2025, it has been part of the public institution Manufactures nationales - Sèvres & Mobilier national, which also includes the Mobilier national and other textile manufacturers:
the Gobelins Manufactory (workshops located in Paris) and the Beauvais Manufactory (workshops located in Paris and Beauvais).

The manufactory originally specialized in the production of velvet carpets and seat upholstery.
These carpets were used by the French court or as royal gifts.
These are often large-scale rugs of exceptional quality.
Those woven from Charles Le Brun’s designs for the Grand Gallery of the Louvre Palace are among the most famous.
