Gashghai rug decorated with two medallions with ethnic decorations, beautiful model from the beginning of the 20th century around 1900, 1920.
It measures 134 cm wide by 177 cm long, in high quality wool on wool, from Iran in very good condition.
Velvet, edges and fringes in good condition with a beautiful patina and wear.
The rust, midnight blue and ivory colors of the field give a bright contrast with the midnight blue background.
The design of a beautiful complexity receives two medallions bordered by stairs revealing many stylized tribal and plant motifs. The border is composed of stylized flowers and trees of life.
The mixed hair fringes are in good condition, they often include goat, sheep, camel, horsehair wool.
These mixtures are found in most ethnic rugs from Iran, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The muted colors of a shiny and soft wool contrast with the clear, indigot, white, pink, orange, blue, red of all the patterns placed on the darker field, causing a striking and luminous contrast.
These rugs are essentially dyed with natural, mineral and vegetable products.
