Beyond their value as collector’s items, these two khorjin panels offer a wonderful decorative opportunity: their dimensions and complementary design make it possible to create a pair of antique-style cushions that are as original as they are elegant.

Their design is particularly appealing. Against a deep midnight blue background stands out an imposing central medallion with crenellated edges, combining madder red, turquoise blue, green, and ivory. All around, a multitude of small polychrome geometric motifs create a rhythmic and remarkably balanced composition. Wide floral borders elegantly frame this composition.

The color palette is particularly rich and harmonious. The shades of blue, deep reds, and touches of green and ivory complement each other subtly, giving these two pieces a remarkable decorative presence.

The appeal of this pair also lies in its history and design. It is relatively rare to find two sides of an antique khorjin that have retained such complementarity. Their similarity suggests that they were made by the same weaver, but a particularly interesting detail provides further evidence.
