Spectacular Veramin kilim originating from Persia. The piece is literally hypnotic with its multitude of intricately interwoven motifs. Visually, it offers a three-dimensional effect. The relief is created by the contrast between the colored sections and the ecru background. The overall vibrancy is further enhanced by its dark brown lines (no black) and the indigo blue that adds a touch of musicality to this composition. Woven wool on a cotton warp. Fine and dense weave, strikingly regular. The piece is supple. Mid-20th century. Beautiful condition, with a lovely patina that has softened the overall look. Reinforced ends.
