An Exceptional Piece
We are privileged to present this important Isfahan rug, a true testament to the
refinement of Persian craftsmanship in the first half of the 20th century. Isfahan, former capital
of the Safavid Empire, is world-renowned for producing the finest and most
complex carpets in the world.
Composition and Ornamentation
This carpet is distinguished by its remarkably precise Minakhani pattern. The central field
presents an infinite repetition of rosettes and spring flowers linked by a network of stems
curvilinear, creating a stylized Garden of Eden. The color palette, dominated by cream
and ivory tones, is magnified by contrasts of ruby red and Persian blue, typical of the
production of this region.
Quality and Conservation
With its generous dimensions of 320 x 205 cm, this piece offers a majestic presence. The
weaving work is exceptionally dense, allowing a level of detail that only
the most expert hands in Iran could accomplish at the time. Its main border,
richly decorated with "Herati" motifs and palmettes, frames the whole with a rigorous
classic.
