Yahyali Rug, 118 X 228 Cm, Anatolia, Early 20th Century, 1900-1930 - Good Condition, Collector's Item
Artist: Tribu Des Yahyalis
Yahyahli rug, originating from eastern Turkey, in eastern Anatolia, early 20th century, in good condition.
The motifs and colors of Yahyahli rugs are very similar to those of Yuruk rugs (another Anatolian ethnic group).
What is striking are the fresh and modern hues!
The motifs of the former are more linear and the borders simpler;
the hooks around the edges of the lozenges disappear, however, their designs closely resemble Caucasian rugs.
Yahyahli rugs are most often elongated, measuring
80/100 x 200/220 cm or 120/130 x 300/320 cm.
Knotted with wool on wool, we owe this type of rug to the work of the nomadic and semi-nomadic Yahyahli tribes.
This tribe favors entirely geometric stylistic designs and the use of colors arranged in a particularly harmonious way.
They have a distinctive feature: the use of polygonal medallions, either single or in pairs aligned along the vertical axis of the rug, a style not found on prayer rugs. Our model features a long, geometric, peach-colored mihrab.
This niche is adorned with trees of life, all set against a black background strewn with flowers, kotchaks, and stylized combs.
The curry-yellow borders are decorated with geometric patterns and bordered on each side by the symbol of eternity. The pigments used for this rug are entirely natural: curry yellow, black, brown, peach, and blue.
The piece is finished with small fringes.
The wool is soft, and this type of rug can be used with either side facing out.
These ethnic rugs possess magnificent colors and superb designs that contribute to the beauty of ancient Yahyahlis and all these wonderful Anatolian rugs.
There is slight wear, but it is in very good condition considering its age.
"This artifact of Anatolian culture deserves a wall rather than a floor to display it."
This rug has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
Dimensions: width 118 cm (46") x length: 228 cm (90").
FREE SHIPPING WITHIN FRANCE. France €0 - Europe €25 - World €50.
