Second half of the 20th century
Iran
Very fine hand-knotted Kilim rug known as Senneh, dating from the 20th century. Senneh rugs are hand-knotted in the province of Kurdistan, in western Iran, near the city of Sanandaj, formerly known as Senneh. The design features a large central diamond pattern with rich polychromatic colors. They are characterized by classic ornamentation arranged in straight, geometric patterns. Thanks to their cultural and traditional origins, these carpets have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia. White silk fringes on both sides. No defects other than a very slight patina from use. In good condition.
